Topic 2. Part of speech
Today we are going to discuss different Parts of speech;
Nouns: Words that name people, places, things, or ideas.
- Examples: cat, school, happiness
Pronouns: Words that take the place of nouns to avoid repetition.
- Examples: he, she, it, they
Verbs: Words that express actions, states, or occurrences.
- Examples: run, is, think
Adjectives: Words that describe or modify nouns and pronouns.
- Examples: happy, tall, red
Adverbs: Words that modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs, often describing how, when, where, or to what extent.
- Examples: quickly, very, well
Prepositions: Words that show relationships between a noun (or pronoun) and other words in a sentence.
- Examples: in, on, at, between
Conjunctions: Words that connect words, phrases, or clauses.
- Examples: and, but, or, because
Interjections: Words or phrases that express strong emotion or reaction.
- Examples: wow, ouch, okay
